Dan Rakes joined Henderson Building Solutions with the goal to build and expand the team in the Northern Virginia region while contributing to the company’s overall mission and growth. Drawn to the company’s vision, he felt confident in the leadership team’s ability to achieve these goals and make them a reality. Every day, Dan is motivated by the excitement of winning new projects and the sense of accomplishment that comes with seeing them come through to completion. He enjoys the challenge of solving problems and finding solutions. As the mission critical regional director, the most rewarding part of his role is leading a team and helping others grow through mentorship. Recently, Dan learned how to use Henderson Building’s Leica 3D Laser scanner with support from his colleagues, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and his appreciation for teamwork within the company.
In his downtime, family is his priority. He enjoys spending time with his loved ones, especially his new grandchild. One of his favorite family stories Dan likes to share is how he caught a foul ball at a Washington Nationals game, saving his 8-year-old daughter from getting hit in the face, a moment of which he never misses an opportunity to reminder her.
